To say we loved working with Hannah and Chris is an understatement. We had photographed her best friend’s wedding (Ashley and Josh) about 2 years ago and had actually met them there. We thought they were such a cute couple. So we were really excited when they became engaged and then asked us to be their wedding photographers! Chris and Hannah are high school sweethearts. They met on her first day of high school, but she didn’t get up the courage to ask him out till the Sadie Hawkins dance her sophomore year. The dance ended up getting cancelled, but Chris took her out on their first date anyway! Not long after that first date, Chris asked her to be his girlfriend (I know…awe how sweet) at the park in Rocky River, watching the sunset, on what they now refer to as “our bench”! Exactly 6 years later (to the day), he asked her to marry him on the same bench! Yes, these two are so sweet and cute. Just looking at them you can see their personalities!
Hannah began her day at her parent’s home. It’s fun seeing the bride dress in her bedroom that she probably slept in as a child. Then there is also the family dog. These personal things make wedding days unique. Chris had all his preparations at his parent’s as well. What a fun bunch of brothers (and a sister), he had to help with all the getting ready!
The wedding ceremony was at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake. From the ceremony, we went to the Cultural Gardens for some beautiful and romantic wedding pictures! As photographers we are always looking for the light and we love what we found on this day! Hannah’s dress and veil often caught the light just perfectly! For something a little different we photographed a bit on the red bridge not far from her venue (Windows on the River). This certainly gave their pictures some variety!
The reception was held at the popular Windows On The River (Bridge View Room). The purple up lighting lit the space beautifully. Take a look at the the Cleveland cake they had! I loved the skyline cut-out and it was perfect for the venue! One of the many highlights was the father/daughter dance! Hannah had many dance lessons and father/daughter dances growing up.For her wedding, her and her father had one playing on the video screen as they performed the dance in person! It was adorable, just absolutely cute in very way! I’m now wondering if I should come up with a dance when one of our son’s gets married!
Later in the night we took them out for some night shots on the pier. These were fun, but so was their entrance back into the room! Take a look at the awesome “light sticks” they gave out to all the guest! This was fun for everyone and their DJ from MC DJ Co, had everyone up and ready when they made their entrance! It was perfect timing! Between the great music, the light sticks and all the happy guest, this was a blast to capture!! All in all, it was such a pleasure working with Hannah and Chris, their friends and their big families! We sure hope to see you all again soon!!! Congratulations Hannah and Chris!
