Ryan and Lex had their wedding at one of my favorite venues, ThornCreek Winery and Gardens. As big a part that the venue played in this beautiful wedding, it was only one of the many things that made this such a great day.
When we first met with Ryan and Lex at our studio, her parents (Fath and Anthony) were also with them. We had so much fun meeting them all and even more fun when Faith and Anthony told us they use to be photographers and their business name was Imagine It Photography!!! Isn’t that such a coincidence! I thought they had to be kidding, but they weren’t! Well, that meeting set the tone for our relationship with Ryan, Lex and her parents. Just seeing everyone on their wedding morning made John and I so comfortable. Such great people all around! Their wedding day actually began at a beautiful country home that had a PNW feel. From there everyone headed to ThornCreek Winery. Lex put on her wedding dress there and then they had their “first look” in the unique gardens.
After their formal portraits, the guest began to arrive. They were greeted with the cutest cart of Champaign and strawberries as they made their way to the garden. A gorgeous arbor of florals (from Diana Elizabeth Designs) hung over the stone steps where Lex and Ryan were to marry. Once the music began, Lex and her father, Anthony walked through ThornCreek’s outdoor antique doorway and down the aisle to Ryan at the arbor. It was a ceremony with plenty of laughing that kept everyone at ease and kept the moments real.
The reception began inside, with toast, dinner, cake cutting and the formal dances. But just as it seemed like we had seen it all, music started drifting through the trees and everyone was encouraged to go outside to the larger tent. This is where Tricky Dick and The Coverups were set up and wooing everyone into the tent! As one of the guests put it…”nothing like having a private concert with Tricky Dick” and I couldn’t agree more! They always put on such a great show! They are another favorite thing of mine from this wedding! Along with Lex’s dress changed, be sure to check out her lace jumpsuit…. perfect for dancing!
I’m not a writer and I wish I was better at putting into words the wonderful people and things we experience from being wedding photographers, but just know it’s really from my heart when I talk about our clients, their families and all the special experiences each wedding brings! Congratulations Ryan and Lex!!
