The View at Mt. Adams| Jack & Kendall

Kendall and Jack’s wedding was held in Mt. Adams.  With the ceremony at the fun hilltop church of Holy Cross and the reception at the always beautiful… The View at Mt. Adams! We first met Kendall at her cousin Courtney’s wedding, so I was thrilled to hear from her when she was booking a photographer.

The morning began with the girls getting ready at The View at Mt. Adams.  The hair & makeup location was so great for a photographer. It was amazing views for the girls, but great natural light for me! Look how beautiful Kendall looks in that light.  Meanwhile, John was with the guys capturing a few prep pictures and moments with parents.

Once everyone was ready, Jack and the groomsmen arrived at The View and we had Kendall and Jack’s “first look” before everyone headed to Holy Cross just around the corner. Kendall and Jack wanted to have most to the church pictures done prior to the ceremony.  So we photographed the immediate families (left the extended family groups for after the ceremony). Also captured a view images outside of the church, though it was very windy, so we opted for Ault Park quickly.

We photographed the families again at the park.  I really do love this idea. Kendall’s cousin, did the same thing and it really gives the families some variety for the group shots.  As someone who has been been married for many (very many) years, the family groups have been some of the most important photos to us over the years.  Also, if gives the parents the chance to see what we are out doing and be able to enjoy more of the day with their children.  We typically photography the groups first and let everyone head back to the bus and then take the couple out for some quiet moments…or fun stuff depending on the vibe.  Either way, a little time to themselves is usually appreciated!

Once it was that time, we traveled back to Holy Cross for the wedding ceremony.  Shout out for the priest at Holy Cross, he gave such a great service/ceremony and incorporated lots of laughs and meaning into it.  Have you ever seen at ceremony begin with the priest playing “Whats love got to do with it” by Tiny Turner?!!  Well, it was great!

Following the ceremony we walked into the streets of Mt. Adams for a few pictures with the charm of Mt. Adams and then off to cocktail hour and the reception!  The reception was stunning with white chairs, and white textured linens with green ivy type stitching.  The napkin rings were adorable with 2 large pearls on a gold ring enclosing a green napkin.  Along with the gold flatware and the perfect flowers, it made the room have such a light and beautiful look.  Pearls were used through out the day giving just a little extra touch to many details.  Of course with a name like The View, I can’t say enough on how wonderful it was to have that view the whole evening.  The reception was filled with so much dancing that even when the evening snack came out, people barely left the floor!

It was a wonderful day and John and I loved working with Jack and Kendall and their so wonderfully friendly families!  It was so much fun being part of your wedding Kendall and Jack!  Thank you for entrusting us to capture your gorgeous day!
