We first met Saralyn when she was a bridesmaid in one of our past weddings.  When she contacted us for her own wedding, we were of course thrilled!  It’s always so fun to work with new clients that we have met through our other couples.  Though Saralyn and Brian’s wedding would be in PA, they came into Cleveland for their engagement session.  That was such a great and beautiful evening, we knew the wedding would be fantastic and it really, really was!  Saralyn’s preparations began at her parents home outside of Pittsburgh.  Her stunning dress was from Sorelle Bridal while her veil was made from her mother’s wedding dress!  Just look at the detail!  The house was so full of excitement and music and really set the tone for the rest of the day…nothing happiness!

The wedding ceremony was at their church,  and was beautifully decorated with toile and soft colored flowers. When entering the church the guest were greeted by bagpipes, always a festive touch for ceremonies!  Take a look at the few ceremony pictures below.  I just love when the couple puts a little humor in their vows.  Nether John or I can recall what was so funny, but I just love all the natural reactions from it!

Now on to the reception…The Gathering Place at Darlington Lake was so a dreamy wedding celebration location!  We loved photographing around the lake and taking advantage of all the pretty views.  We used the umbrellas for a few of the rainy moments, but really were fortunate that it wasn’t the whole time!   The cocktail hour was held at the pavilion that was next to the reception space.  This pavilion had a long bar, fire pit and lots of other amenities.  Once the cocktail hour was over, the guest moved to the beautiful reception space.  Being a Pittsburgh area wedding, the infamous  Pittsburgh Cookie Table was on full display!  In the center was their petite wedding cake that was  called a Hummingbird Cake.  They chose the cake because it has the same name as the song that Brian had written for her, and had playing in the background when he proposed!  Even sweeter, is that one of her bridesmaids was actually singing the song during their first dance! Not a lot of dry eyes during that dance.  Speaking of the first dance, notice the change of her dress style.  She surprised everyone when she removed her lace top (that looked like a permanent part of the dress) and came out to great Brian for their dance.  Did I mention that Brian is a drummer in a Pittsburgh band?! Hence the talent to write a song for her! Of course later in the evening we just had to capture a few pictures of him on the drums!
