The Farm House at Emmett Ridge Farm Wedding| Mike & Karen

Karen and Mike had been dating for over 10 years.  This was a first marriage for both of them and such a very special day for everyone. They chose The Farm House at Emmett Ridge Farm for their wedding and reception. It had the perfect blend of rustic charm and natural beauty.  We were familiar with Emmett Ridge as we had photographed their engagement session just a month prior when the colors were at their peak and flowers were abundant! Karen was right when she wanted to do the session there, because for the wedding in November it would look completely different.

Mike and Karen had a first look and then we all rode off in a large “golf cart”, chauffeured by one of the staff at the farm. It was such a treat as we hopped out and were visited by a flock of sheep! I grabbed a couple quick shots before they were rustled out of our path! Karen was unphased and had fun with them never-the-less! From that location we zoomed (slowly) around the property taking in the beautiful sunshine on this winter day. After capturing moments around the large property, it was time for the ceremony.

The ceremony was so full of meaning and beautiful prayers. The officiant knew Mike and this made their vows and ceremony so very personal and unique to them.  One tradition that Emmett Farm has for their ceremonies is to ring the big farm bell.  Now this bell is usually outside where they have their summer ceremonies, but for Mike and Karen they found a way to bring it in their tent for the wedding ceremony!   See the picture of them taking turns ringing it and then ringing it together.

The cocktail hour followed the ceremony and was inside with the bar and fireplace.  Meanwhile the tent was being flipped into a reception that everyone eventually made their way back to.

This wedding was special for me, as I had become friends with Karen through this process. She actually lived in our neighborhood and was a good friend of our neighbor & friend next door!  If that wasn’t enough, we got to experience Emmett Ridge Farm. It’s a special place and the people who own and run it are even more special.  Look up their mission, farm to table and so much more.
