We first met Alissa when she was a bridesmaid in one of our past weddings (that we loved) and was thrilled when we she contacted us after several years.  One thing that stands out about this wedding and couple, is their since of personal style. From the wedding being on February 29th (Leap Year wedding) and that they did not have a wedding party, to their unique rings from Wwake,  this wedding was so much them!  As for the unique rings, each year they were engaged, Alissa received another band.  Personal touches, I just love them.

February 29th began with Mark running the Chili Bowl Classic 5k!  It was super cold, but no problem for him and his friends!  Check out his wedding day race attire! Back at the Cleveland Lakeside Hilton, Alissa was preparing for the day in her fun red striped pj’s!   Wedding prep at the Hilton is always a great idea!!!  Once both Alissa and Mark were ready, we went up to Bar 32 in the Hilton, for their “first look”.  Having this super cool location all to ourselves was a great idea from Hilton and on Alissa and Mark for renting it!  Though it was freezing out on the patio, we still were able to grab a few fun shots with great views and cool backgrounds!

Alissa and Mark had selected picture locations that meant something special to them and weren’t like many of the other wedding locations we often go to.   Our first stop was to their home to capture a super quick shot of them with their sweet dog (loved this)!  Then to their favorite coffee shoppe (they got permission first), Duck Rabbit Coffee in Ohio City.  Isn’t that place cute?!  From there we went to the pedestrian bridge over in Tremont.  They are starting the trend of placing a lock on the fence with their date and initials. Just like Paris!  They even had the bridge cleared off the day before…just for this moment!  Then we were off to Graffiti Heart for some funky colors.  First time shooting around this building and Alissa and Mark made it fun and easy!

Well, it was finally time to head to Red Space for the wedding ceremony and reception!  When we first walked in, we were all so excited to see how beautiful Stephanie from Kirkbrides Wedding Planning and Lowes Green house had the space looking,,, sooo perfect! Alissa wanted few flowers and the use of air-plants and lots greenery was perfect!  The ceremony was performed by Alissa’s good friend Adriana De Los Santos!  It was meaningful and intimate.  Best of all was their excited at the end of the ceremony!  They were so happy and just adorable in their display of happiness!

Next was cocktail hour and then the reception.  The neon sign above the dessert bar was important to Alissa, but from there, she wanted greenery and beautiful cafe lighting.  Which turned out to amazing from Solus Lighting.  You may also notice the cake and it’s unique decorations…felt replicas of their dog and cats!  Oh, I could go on and on about the cute and unique details, but really what we loved best was this couple!  Two very kind, funny and caring individuals and it was great to see them as man and wife and just to become friends with them!  Big thank you to all the wonderful vendors involved in this special wedding.
