Madalyn and Tom’s Happy Days Lodge wedding was the first weekend of November. It was an astonishing fall day, the weather was beautiful and the colors held on just for their wedding! The story of their wedding day began after five years of dating. Madalyn writes..”we decided to visit Tom’s family in Ireland and bought our tickets two weeks before we left. We landed and he drove me to the Cliff of Mohr, where we hiked for about 2 miles. He then sat me down and asked me to marry him! I was so surprised that I started to cry and couldn’t contain my excitement! We told everyone we passed on the trail and couldn’t stop smiling on the way back! The surprises continued when he shared that he had booked 2 nights at the stunning, Ashford Castle for us! It was the most perfect, fairy tale story and I will always cherish that memory for as as long as I live!” Madalyn wrote. Ummmm, how romantic is that?! I love that proposal!! Insert heart emojis here.
On the morning of the wedding Madalyn and girls had hair and makeup at the cute Willow Room salon in Lakewood. The whole salon was bustling with excitement and lots of love! After the salon, they all went to Stanford House in Peninsula. The old house is such a great choice when your wedding is at Happy Days Lodge. Stanford House is close and full of nostalgia and surrounded by beautiful nature. So glad we had a few minutes to capture pictures outside the grand barn there on the property!
Their wedding was held at the rustic, yet fun and beautiful Happy Days Lodge! As you walked up to the lodge you passed a vintage bike with flowers flowing out the front basket. Upon entering, a welcoming guest table was decorated with a stunning flower arrangement and a vintage suitcase and other cute items. which gave you the feeling that this was going to be a very special day. The wedding ceremony was almost like being outside, but you weren’t. The aisle had rose petals along both sides and was flanked by more beautiful flowers at the entrance. Madalyn’s mother sang beautifully as the guest waited for the start of the ceremony. It was a very touching ceremony. Not often does the officiant wipe away a tear, but being the bride’s brother… it was just perfect.
The reception was stunningly decorated with flowers, greenery and candles along all the tables. A kings table was set in the center of the room. I love this! As you look through the pictures, you will see so many beautiful details. From the claw-foot tub used as a beer cooler, to the adorable vintage ladder used to hold the place cards, every detail carried the theme throughout the wedding. Melissa from Oak and Honey Events, did such a beautiful job coordinating and planning this gorgeous wedding. Oh and I can’t forget…those flowers! Kate McIntyre, the groom’s mother provided all the amazing florals. We raised our eyebrows when we heard “the mother-in-law is doing the flowers” we couldn’t help but be a little skeptical, well boy were we wrong! Kate’s arrangements were unquestionably some of the most beautiful flowers and arrangements we have ever seen at a wedding. She is so talented..amazing that she doesn’t do this for a living! I could go on and on about this wedding and the beautiful people we were fortunate to work with. Thank you Tom and Madalyn for having us capture your beautiful fall wedding!
