Emily and Sebastian’s wedding was held at the super cool First Energy Stadium! Both being Nutritionist, a sports stadium seemed a perfect fit, but Emily said they selected it just to have something interesting.
From the couple..
Emily and Seb have five letters to thank for their relationship: DICAS. What does this acronym mean, you might ask? DICAS stands for the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System. This system allows nutrition students to rank their top internship programs and be ranked by the programs as well. By some stroke of fate, destiny, or just plain luck, DICAS decided to rank Emily and Seb as the two best candidates for the Ohio State University Masters and Dietetic Internship Program in 2015. Though some of you love the Buckeyes and others can’t stand the sight of the scarlet and gray, we can all agree that THE Ohio State University brought these two incredible people together.
Seb, a brave Californian venturing out into the wild-wild Midwest, was excited but not quite sure what to expect out of his only classmate in this program. Before he even touched down in Ohio, he noticed a “like” on one of his Facebook posts by this mystery classmate… from five years ago. In Emily’s terms, she was “scoping out her future classmate,” but in modern societal terms, she was “Facebook stalking” and was caught red-handed. Say what you will of Emily’s social media blunder, but she definitely got Seb’s attention.
After a few months, endless hours working on their internship, and a premature invitation to a Danckers’ Thanksgiving by Emily’s mother, Seb and Emily officially became official. Four years later on May 17, 2019, the two found themselves in St. Wolfgang, Austria on the edge of a stunning lake. Seb slowly took the ring box out of his pocket and, playing it cool as always, opened the box upside down. Emily stood by, shocked by the proposal and the potential for the ring to be lost to the lake before she had a chance to try it on. Finally, box right-side-up, Seb asked Emily to be his wife. Spoiler alert… she said yes.
—-Wedding Day
Emily’s morning began at her local salon and the dressing and lunch at her parent’s home. I laughed when I found her looking at a magazine on the couch…she was totally relaxed and so easy going. I though it was kind of sweet to take pictures of her in her wedding dress at her childhood home. Sabastian was at a cool Airbnb! The wedding was held at St. Joseph in Avon Lake. Once the ceremony was over and formal portraits at the altar were finished, everyone headed downtown for the reception at First Energy Stadium. We did take a quick little stop at Edgewater Park to capture of few pictures of the beautiful skyline and then we were off to the reception!
The First Energy Stadium reception space was bright and festive! Huge windows all along one wall gave the reception space such beautiful light. The Blue Water Kings band greeted the guest as they came into the grand space. Soon there were several speeches and the first dances began which got everyone excited and out on the dance floor! As the sun began to set we did sunset pictures of Emily and Sebastian but also of several guest. That’s one of the nice things about First Energy weddings…the guest came go out to the patio for beautiful sunsets! Congratulations to Emily and Sebastian!
