Lisa and CJ’s wedding was in mid November with the day beginning and Lisa’s parent’s home. Their home was filled with beautiful natural light that was perfect to capture those parent, daughter moments, before heading to the church! The church, St. Francis of Assisi, is one that we have photographed in before and are able to get some nice angles to capture the vows etc. I love the shot John got of CJ just after the ring exchange! One of the benefits of two photographers. I was photographing the wide shot while he was getting the closeups!
After their very meaningful ceremony and pictures at the alter we first headed to the Cultural Gardens. This time of the year doesn’t have much color, but we knew a certain spot still would. So we made sure to take advantage of it! Typically we try to create a moment where our couple can just be themselves. Walking and cuddling in…the way they do it, not necessarily directed much by us. Of course, if needed we direct a bit to get that perfect shot. After the gardens, we went downtown, just across from their wedding reception venue, The Renaissance Hotel. We love getting some downtown shots and a little nature in the same shot. Public Square is a great option, especially because it’s right across from the Renaissance Hotel.
Finally time for the reception! The reception was in the Grand Ballroom, with the cocktail hour up on the second floor overlooking the Grand Ballroom. Having a second floor to the reception space is wonderful! Look at the birds eye view we were able to capture..not to mention, having the guest in another space gives us time to photograph the details and for the guest to get excited about entering! I really do like the space of this ballroom and the grand (no pun intended) dancing shots we captured! The band entertaining all the guest was the Blue Water Kings and they certainly kept everyone on the floor! What a great day we all had! From this sweet and beautiful couple to the awesome reception, John and I were thrilled to be part of it all! Thank you Lisa and CJ! Congratulations again!
