Cleveland Museum of Art, Indian Wedding | Alex & Rinjal

What’s better than a beautiful wedding ceremony? Two beautiful wedding ceremonies!

From Rinjal…”While scrolling, looking for his Indian princess, Alex came across a name that he thought had to be fake, but it wasn’t. Little did he know there was one working as a doctor about a mile away from his house in Bay Village. Anyone who knows Rinjal knows that she likes to use aliases. Alex took the chance messaging this ‘Rb Bt’ and actually got a quick reply. After a few days back and forth in the app, Rinjal finally gave up her phone number. We set our first date for July 19, 2019 at Market in Rocky River, OH. Alex arrived early as he always does. Rinjal was running late as she always does. We enjoyed great conversation and wine but Rinjal did not love her cauliflower steak (Alex didn’t realize she was a vegetarian). As we departed, we embraced in a hug and Alex uttered Rinjal’s all-time favorite quote “I’d love to meet up again but if not, no hard feelings.” We still laugh about that to this day. Many dates followed and our love for each other continued to grow. Five years of dating (WAY too long if you ask Rinjal) culminated while vacationing in Italy where Alex popped the question on Lake Maggiore. Through tears of joy, Rinjal managed to say ‘YES’ and we’ve been looking forward to our big day ever since.”

Indian weddings are always full of special details, vibrant colors, and rich symbolism, and this one had it all in a single day! Beautifully executed by the talented team at Oh Hello Event Planning, their expert timing made capturing every moment so much easier. The day began at the Cleveland Westin Hotel, where John and I started early to photograph Rinjal and Alex as they got ready. They chose to have a quick lakeside “first look” at 7:45 am at Voinovich Park—a magical sunrise moment—before heading to the ceremony at the Aloft Hotel.

Alex arrived for his festive Baraat at Aloft while Rinjal prepared for the Indian ceremony. At the end of the lively procession, guests were treated to the Smooth Rider smoothie truck, complete with fresh smoothies and adorable snack boxes. The stunning Mandap, dripping with flowers from the aisle to the stage, was breathtaking. The ceremony was filled with joyful and meaningful moments, especially Rinjal’s entrance and the Saptapadi (seven steps), which brought laughter and smiles all around.

After family portraits, the couple and wedding party went to Edgewater Park for more photos before returning to the Westin for a wardrobe change. Everyone then made their way to Our Lady of Peace for the Catholic ceremony. The procession began beautifully, but the children stole the spotlight—the ring bearer adorably trying to keep his pants up while holding the pillow, followed by the sweetest flower girls in matching dresses. It was a day overflowing with love, joy, and unforgettable moments.

After the Catholic ceremony, we snapped some quick and fun photos at Cleveland’s iconic chandelier before heading off for one final outfit change—and what a transformation it was! At the Cultural Gardens, Rinjal stepped off the trolley in a stunning wine-colored saree that took our breath away. We made the most of the gorgeous gown, capturing portraits in the gardens and at the Cleveland Museum of Art just as the sun began to set.

The reception took place inside the Cleveland Museum of Art, one of the most breathtaking venues for a large celebration. A massive flower-adorned head table seated the entire wedding party, offering a perfect view over all the guests. The evening kicked off with introductions, personal dances, and heartfelt toasts, followed by a night filled with delicious desserts and joyful dancing. It was truly a special day shared with a wonderful couple and an incredible team of vendors.
