We first met Samantha and Colton this summer when we photographed their engagement.  When she said they would be coming from Lexington and she was really envisioning a field of flowers, I knew we were going to have so much fun with them.  Being I love to make couple’s visions come true and that I absolutely love flowers, her request put me on a mission! So, when their wedding day was finally here, we were really looking forward to seeing them both again! Their preparations were at their wedding reception location, The Radisson Hotel in Covington, KY.  It was kind of nice that Samantha could peek at the pretty reception details before we all headed to the ceremony!

The ceremony was at St. Rose, but before going into the ceremony, Colton and Samantha wanted to exchange private vows and a sweet hand touch.  There was a pretty stone wall area that ended up being the perfect spot where Colton wouldn’t be able to see Samantha, but they could share in a few moments together before the ceremony.  I really love the pictures from those moments. Then we were all set for the wedding ceremony and with a little less nerves!  St Rose church was so beautiful, especially decorated for Christmas.  For the ring exchange I found myself having to squat low to photograph around the priest, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the images that John had gotten!  They were amazingly close-up pictures that were taken from the balcony of the church right over the priest!

After the ceremony we went to Ault Park for more wedding portraits.  The sky was such a pretty blue and practically matched the bridesmaid’s dresses. A happy detail of the day.  With not a lot of time we photographed around the park structure and then headed to the Radisson for all the fun.  Colton and Samantha wanted us to capture their “last dance” once everyone had left the room.  This was such a sweet moment between the two of them and I think the pictures really capture it nicely.  Congratulations Samantha and Colton, what a great day!  Happy New Year!
