“Jake and Michelle are such a cute couple!” We heard this so many times over the course of their wedding, and we couldn’t agree more! The way they communicate with each other and all the tears that flowed during their wedding ceremony, were only a small indication of the love these two have. Here is their beginning from Michelle. ” Jake and I met through mutual friends at a convention in Sandusky probably 7 or 8 years ago. We were just acquaintances for years before things aligned just right that I asked if he wanted to go to Cedar Point with my friends and I. He said “Sure, could be fun” and that was that. We had a wonderful weekend, went on our first real date the following week where we got Thai food and went back to my house to watch the newest Rob Zombie movie (we both love horror films). We’ve been inseparable ever since. Just last year he proposed to me at Cedar Point, the place where I took a chance at inviting him to hang out. It was very romantic, I had a fanny pack on and everything. Nobody gave me even the slightest heads up. We love our dogs, watching movies and playing video games together, and going on adventures. He’s my best friend, and I think I can say that I’m his. ” Oh yes, these two are perfect for each other.
Their wedding was held at Acacia Reservation. I personally love this location for all it’s natural beauty and light! Photographing in the tall grasses and hills is a bit different and a fun for us! Both Michelle and Jake had their morning preparations at Acacia. John and I both were able to take the wedding party out separately and photograph them before the ceremony, without doing a “first look” with the bride and groom. This is nice because we can get so many pictures without having to take too much time during cocktail hour.
The ceremony was moved inside due to the colder temperatures. But being indoors did not make this ceremony any less amazing. The tears, laughs and sweet glances between them were so special and wonderful to witness. At Acacia, when the ceremony is finished the couple can walk down the aisle and right into Acacia’s beautiful lobby. This is such a great location to capture a few candids when the couple realizes that they “did it” and the temps outside are cold as well! But the temperature rose a bit and we all headed outside for some dreamy, gorgeous sunlight! The way the sun was lowering behind the trees, and the beautiful (and slightly pinkish), romantic dress that Michelle had selected, helped make this photo time unique and beautiful!
The reception was adorned with fresh flowers on every table. The head table had elegant linens and a rustic structure with more florals and drapes in the center. This really decorated the space uniquely and made for a great background to the reception shots. If you have never eaten Dino’s Catering you are missing out! So much food and it was delicious! Even as vendors, we had a table full of food! After dinner, the back room was opened up with tables of desserts and cookies! The display was probably 15 feet long of sweets and treats for all the guest! As the evening was ending we had fun with confetti poppers on the back patio and then at the night’s end there was a sparkler send-off! What a perfect ending for a special couple! Thanks for having us as part of your day!
