A question John and I like to ask when we meet with a couple is what is “your” story. It often includes cute stories of their first meeting and their engagement.
From Isabella-“Austin and I met at The Ohio State University in 2019. Our mutual friend introduced us by inviting Austin to play on our coed intramural soccer team. We won the intramural championship. I graduated in May 2019 and moved to Cleveland, but Austin remained in Columbus for his senior year and then his job. We finally lived in the same zip code for the first time since we started dating when we moved to Nashville together in January of 2022. Austin proposed by decorating the whole apartment while I was at the gym. He was down on one knee in his suit when I returned in my sweaty gym clothes. It was the best surprise and perfectly intimate. Our dog ran out wearing a “my mom said yes” bandana.” Sweet right?!
We had the pleasure of meeting their sweet pup for their engagement session last year at Ohio State! It was a perfect location for them and us, since we were coming from the Cincinnati area! We really do like incorporating a special location for engagements if possible!
Their wedding day began with the girls getting ready in a super cool space called Loft 40. It’s a new event venue that’s perfect for wedding prep, parties, dinners etc. While I had fun photographing in the space, the guys were at the Westin celebrating and preparing as well. Check out all the wedding prep photos below!
The wedding ceremony was at the iconic St. John’s Cathedral. One of our most popular wedding ceremony locations. Isabella’s long train and veil were stunning coming up the aisle. As I was at the altar photographing her and her father’s walk up the aisle, I could see their guests face’s watch her with awe. Just a stunning bride in a beautiful setting. There were also lots of big smiles for Austin’s reaction as she approached him. I really love the picture of Austin’s mother watching him with so much love on her face. After the ceremony and the grand walk down the aisle and a few kisses along the way, the couple walked out of the church to my favorite… lots of ribbon wands!
The reception was held at the beautiful Cleveland City Hall Rotunda! Isabella and Austin had a very unique set-up with their tables. I loved the curved tables and the mix of different size tables together. All the tables were adorned with flowers and a botte of Lemon Cello for a toast! There was also a champaign glass tower, a huge “Pittsburgh style” cookie table and a coffee martini bar! So many well thought out details that brought it all together for a very Italian style reception! I can’t end the blog without mentioning the dance floor which was packed all night thanks to Troy Entertainment! Also like to recognize the coordinators for day Oh Hello Event Planning, always such a joy to work with and our first time working with Taylored Media, who were awesome as well!
Thank you to Austin and Isabella most of all! Such a pleasure getting to know you two and share in such a special wedding! Congratulations!
