Dayton Art Institute Wedding | Tyler & Katherine

Katherine & Tyler’s wedding day was a mix of old fashion classiness,  a garden party and non-stop dancing and fun! Katherine began her preparations at the cool AC Hotel in downtown Dayton. When I entered the room it was a flurry of bridesmaids, various color robes and dresses.  To my surprise the bridesmaids dresses were a variety of pastels & they also matched each bridesmaid’s robe. This was definitely a peek into what this beautiful day would bring.

The ceremony was held at Holy Angel’s Church in Dayton.  As we came up to the church the beautiful florals were already apparent, with lovely white swags and colorful flowers at the entrance, then entering the church it was continued up the aisle as well. Once at the alter the flowers were unique with what looked like flowers growing. The stunning flowers were from Furst Florist.   I also have to mention one of the most beautiful choirs and music we have heard at wedding. They filled the church with such beautiful voices and music that we all had to turn around and look into the choir loft to view.

After the wedding ceremony and formals in the church, we went directly to the cocktail and reception at The Dayton Art Institute.  With such a beautiful location there wasn’t a need to go to another location for their formals!  From the classic steps and fountain outside the Institute,  to the tranquil courtyard just steps from the reception space, it quickly became one of my favorite wedding venues in the area. And being able to photograph among the art, was just the icing on the cake so to speak!

Now for the reception, which was styled like a garden party.  The linens were soft pastels that matched the bridesmaid’s dresses.  The flowers were everywhere and perfectly placed.  The cake, by DLM Love Cakes, went right along with the whimsical feel of the decor. Of course the design of the space was so perfect  for this wedding as well. The glass ceiling areas, the stone/cement framed doors, and the brick walls gave the room such a grand, yet garden feel.  Then later in the evening we were able to go out on the terrace  for golden hour photos!  Then the night was filled with so much dancing, dancing and dancing…I think we delivered more dance photos for this wedding than we ever had. When the bride and groom dance it really gets the guest out on the floor!   Big thanks to Brian Harris  for being the extraordinary DJ and even giving the groom the opportunity to DJ for a bit! Check out the pictures!

Thank you Katherine & Tyler! Happy honeymooning on a Safari!!
