Abby and Corey have had long relationship and it has only strengthened their love and admiration for each other! The wedding ceremony was held at Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby. After the ceremony we ventured out to one of our favorite locations, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. Corey and Abby had also reserved the Rockfella Greenhouse, just incase of rain. Though it was a gorgeous day, we still kept their appointment and had fun photographing amongst the “jungle”! We then headed to the reception at Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens!
With the wedding reception being held at the beautiful Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens there was so much beauty to photograph there as well! It’s such a beautiful location for weddings. It offers so many amenities, which makes it fun for couples and their guest! When walking into Sapphire Creek, the gorgeous tables and flowers literally took your breath away! The soft pinks accented with gold details, was just perfect for a spring wedding! All this gorgeous planning and design were by Durga and her team at Patra Designs. Other details were the flower wall for posed portraits, the yummy donut table, and the adorable little lanterns that were at each place setting. Lots of other thoughtful details that made the reception a perfect evening.
From Abby the bride…”Corey and I met as freshmen in high school in marching band in 2010, and we were friends for 4 years before we started dating. After graduation, we spent six years in a long distance relationship while we were in college. We were committed to each other, but made the decision early in our relationship that school came first, so we saw each other when we could and made it work. He went to CSU for Music Education, and I went to Kent State for Biology and later OSU for Optometry School. Thankfully we were both in state, so we were able to see each other more often than others who are long distance.
We got engaged in April of 2018, 1 day after Corey got my ring from the jeweler! He took me to a beachfront park in Willowick where he decorated a gazebo with lights and dozens of roses. A kind woman was in the gazebo when we got there, and by this point I had an inkling what was going on, so we sat at a bench and waited. She then came up to us with her dog and said “Do you see all the lights over there?! WOW! I think someone is going to propose!!” We looked at each other and laughed, and Corey proposed a few minutes after she left, and we gave a few dozen roses to people we saw at the park. Corey and I always knew that we were going to wait until I finished school to get married, so we agreed on a long engagement and to get married the Saturday after my graduation ceremony. (Little did we know what the wedding planning process was going to look like at that time; I think we would’ve started sooner if we knew what 2020 was to become. Granted nothing could’ve adequately prepared us for how much unknown was going to be involved in the last year!) !”
Congratulations Abigail and Corey! Your smiles and laughs made the whole day so much fun! Thank you for having us as part of your wedding day!
