Mooreland Mansion Wedding | Mark & Lori

Mark and Lori’s wedding was held at the historic Mooreland Mansion.  A bit about this lovely venue: “Mooreland Mansion – with 18 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms — was a working farm with cattle, pigs and deer on more than 1,000 acres. Louise Moore presided over her beloved gardens; her meticulous records and preserved landscape plans allowed volunteers, decades later, to restore the gardens to their original condition. In 1928, Edward Moore died and the family moved from their Cleveland home to Mooreland Mansion, according to local historical research. In 1968, the Moore family sold the mansion and its remaining 400 acres to Lakeland Community College. The college built its campus a short distance from the mansion, and allowed the last member of the Moore family to live there until her death in early 1980s. Then, the house sat empty. Weeds overtook the gardens, the roof leaked and critters nested inside the house.

By the late 1980s, the neglected home was slated for demolition, and Lakeland didn’t have the money to fix it up, so volunteers stepped in. Volunteers cleaned up the property, made repairs, restored the gardens and raised money for their work. The college spent $3 million to have a construction firm to paint the exterior; make repairs to the deck, shutters, roof and walls; refinish floors; and more. Volunteers contributed about $200,000 from fundraising and in-kind donations, Duer estimated.Construction ended in 1998, and the home opened for weddings and functions.”  –Cleveland.com

So this location is so special!  It was perfect for Mark and Lori and we had such a great time photographing there!  The pretty gardens, the grand staircase and the beautiful front of this mansion make this entire venue so full of charm! Their ceremony was held in the rose garden and the sun had just dipped below the tree line, which made the lighting ideal for the ring exchange and portraits!  When it was time for the reception, Mark and Lori made their grand entrance onto the patio as all their guest were up on the porch cheering!  The rest of the evening was dancing under the stars, lots of cookie eating and even a dance off with the bride!  Big thank you to Myka Michelle   for her perfect planning and to Jessica of Gather Flower Studio for the gorgeous fall florals! Congratulations Mark and Lori!
