Matt & Lauren| St. Demetrious Cultural Center Wedding
Matt and Lauren met in the basement of “The Blind Pig,” a now historic bar in Cleveland’s sophisticated Warehouse district, when out with mutual friends. He won her over with his mediocre dance moves. They eventually began to date, and shortly after Lauren was abruptly relocated to Columbus. Lauren said that they drove back and forth between Cleveland and Columbus for several years while Lauren completed her residency, and Matt learned the hardships of single parenthood while raising their beautiful black labrador named Ruby. After all of this, they finally decided they might as well get married. Matt woke Lauren up at 5:30 am on a Sunday off (bold move) and they floated around in a balloon for a while, where Matt somehow found the room to plop down on his knee in front of several innocent bystanders.
This is where we come in…chosen to photograph their engagement session early last winter, John and I were lucky enough to meet their adorable lab, Ruby. From the engagement session we knew it was going to be a fun wedding. Matt has kinda goofy, fun side and Lauren just goes with the flow. It is cute to watch them and even more fun to photograph them. The wedding was held at St. Charles Borromeo Parish. The wedding went off with a hitch and shortly afterwards we were heading to the Cultural Gardens for our first stop for formal pictures. With plenty of time, we decide to head to 4th street’s Corner Alley for a little laid back fun and then off to the ever popular Cleveland Sign! It was a fun afternoon with this bunch!
The reception was at St. Demetrios Cultural Center. There was soooo much dancing and everyone knows how much photographers love a good dancing crowed!! Also check out their crazy ice luge! Always fun when the couple adds their own personal touches. Thank you Matt & Lauren! It was a great day!
