Emily & Colin’s Lakewood Country Club Wedding

We often get asked how we feel spending our summers photographing weddings every weekend.  I usually laugh a little and then go into the a story behind our latest wedding. Even when we meet with a prospective couple, we can go on-and -on about the amazing people and the uniqueness of every wedding. Weddings may have similar traditions, but the people and their relationships change the feel and style for us every time.  It’s the personalities and love between the couple and their family and friends that give the wedding it’s style and feel.  This is what we love to capture!

Colin and Emily’s wedding is one that is on the top of my list for gorgeous details and beautiful emotions! Emily chose to get ready at her childhood home.  This house is special to her family, not only did she grow up there, but also her mother. When  Jessica and I walked into her home we instantly felt calmness and comfort.  It had an elegant, vintage, cottage feel, that we soon found to be the style for their whole wedding.   It was the perfect location for her wedding day preparations.  Even more perfect,  just around the block, Colin was with all the guys, doing what guys do before a wedding.

Colin and Emily had been together for 4 years.  They were crazy about each other from the start.  He proposed to Emily while on a trip to Florida with her family. Emily and Colin loved being able to share in the excitement with her family! I love that!  The wedding ceremony was also just around the block from their homes at St. Mark’s Church.

I loved the ribbons on the outside of the church and the beautiful programs which they had displayed so beautifully as well. From the ceremony we went to University Circle for portraits and then to their reception at Lakewood Country Club.

The reception details were designed by Emily and her Mother, Michelle.  You could see their style in every detail of the wedding. The little pearls and “blings” added tied in the theme  of “modern romantic”. The beautiful neutrals, the touch of soft pink and a mix of metals and sparkle brought this wedding to the next level! The gorgeous florals and greenery along the head table and throughout the wedding were from  Urban Orchid.   Later in the reception we brought out the couple and parents to take advantage of the beautiful sunsets we usually get at Lakewood.  It’s so nice if we have the opportunity to take advantage of the golden hour! Thank you Colin and Emily for the pleasure of working with you two and your families!  Congratulations!!
